Hosse key sign art Nashville

Yet another piece best seen by night, the Hosse and Hosse Lock and Safe Company key sign. It turns out this sign has a history. Hosse and Hosse, founded in 1865 at the end of the war, is 151 years old, making it the seventh oldest business in Nashville. The sign has apparently been with them for much of that time, having first hung outside their store on Deaderick Street in the early 20th century, moving with them when the company relocated to Woodland Street. Given a legacy like this, I’d say this is an art piece that is likely to outlast most everything else that I feature on this blog. And hey, if you need locks, safes, keys, and other security equipment, these folks know what they’re doing!

Located at 918 Woodland Street, across from The Basement East and a few steps east of the Firemen’s Credit Union. Parking at the shop and some nearby businesses, but no street parking on Woodland itself.
